FOOD DELIVERY

Greetings DAAS parents and students,

Due to the spread of COVID-19, this year The Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences Summer School program will take place virtually.

We are still working in partnership with the Gleaners Food Bank this year to continue to help provide meals for families. Gleaners will not provide meals at the school however; they have provided us with a number for our parents to access. Just text 877-877-FOOD they will provide you with locations in your area for food pick up.

The program will begin July 1, 2020 through December 17, 2020. There are two models available:

• Grab N Go:  Delivery occurs on Mondays and Wednesdays consisting of breakfast and lunch for 5 days per child. The distribution window is no longer than 2 hours to ensure food safety guidelines are followed.  Some flexibility with distribution times may need to occur depending on the times the vendor can deliver the meals.  Please note: there will not be flexibility of choosing different delivery days.

• Monday & Wednesday Meal Distribution Routes:  Delivery occurs on Monday and Wednesday consisting of a lunch and/ or breakfast to be served the same day within the time frame noted in the attached schedule.  To download the pdf of this information CLICK HERE.
