Crisis Counseling– Crisis Text Line serves anyone, in any type of crisis, providing access to free, 24/7 support via a medium people already use and trust: text. Crisis doesn’t just mean thinking about ending your own life.  It’s any painful emotion and anytime you need support. So, you text 741741. Your opening message can say anything like “HOME,” “START” and “HELLO”
 
Disaster Distress Helpline– SAMHSA’s Disaster Distress Helpline provides 24/7, 365-day-a-year crisis counseling and support to people experiencing emotional distress related to natural or human-caused disasters. This helpline is dedicated to providing immediate crisis counseling for people who are experiencing emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster. This toll-free, multilingual, and confidential crisis support service is available to all residents in the United States. Detroit COVID-19 Virtual Therapy Collaborative– A 24/7 collaborative call center coming together to help our community. The primary focus is to instill hope while focusing on identifying strengths and resiliency in individuals who are often overlooked and underrepresented. This virtual therapy offers coping skills for teens, families, and resources on grief/loss, mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and stress. Mi Dept of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) – Connects Michiganders to a warmline which operates 7 days a week from 10a-2a. You can call (888)733-7753. The certified peer support specialists warmline will offer support for individuals feeling isolated from society and will provide referrals for outreach and assistance. This warmline connects Michiganders to mental health services for dealing with anxiety, depression and trauma.
 
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline -We can all help prevent suicide. The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals. Toll free 1(800)273-TALK (8255)
 
New 9/2021: Online Therapy Addiction Support for Family Members – This online resource offers addiction counseling and therapy help for family members and can teach our loved ones to break the cycle of abuse and new, healthy coping mechanisms for grief, stress and other triggers.
 
New 8/2022: Live Another Day – Extensive information on mental health and substance use resources for People of Color. Their mission is equal access to life-saving resources.
 
New 8/2022: Detox Local – An excellent resource that features abundant information including mental health and substance use resources specifically for the AAPI (American Asian and Pacific Islander) community.

Grief & Loss Support

Open Arms-Ascension- Helps children and adults who have suffered direct or threatened physical, mental or emotional harm as a result of the commission of a crime by providing ongoing support groups, trauma debriefing, counseling and community education.
