The “Habitat” Lab

The “Habitat” Lab

IMG_3513Our Habitat Lab was created in 2010 with the purpose of bringing nature into the classroom by building natural habitats for plants and animals.  Students have the opportunity explore the natural habitats of fish, frogs, turtles, birds, and a variety of animals. Students’ engagement in the habitat consist of caring for animals, collecting organisms, viewing them under a microscope, collecting data, and performing simple chemical tests.  Our current curriculum utilizes Pearson’s Interactive Science Curriculum for daily instruction.  The “Habitat” will allow teachers and students to further explore science on a larger scale.

We currently have the following animals in our habitat:IMG_3514
