Several Assessments are mandated to monitor student success and to guide instructional efforts.  As a public school academy in the State of Michigan, DAAS is required to administer standardized assessments to monitor and evaluate school and individual student achievement.

In the Upper Elementary and Middle School Academies, the Michigan Summative Assessment is administered.  This assessment begins in the Spring for third through eighth grade students. Eighth grade students also take the P-SAT 8/9 as their ELA and Math state assessment.

In addition to these state mandated assessments, DAAS administers the i-Ready Assessment at intervals throughout the school year to all students in the District.
